5 Asian Inspired Breakfast Recipes with Over 30g of Protein
I’ll be the first to admit that I used to be the girl that chugged an iced coffee with extra sweetener for breakfast — until my gut health and hormone health came crashing down in my mid to late 20s. It used to be fast, convenient, and gave me the “energy” spike I needed to get through the morning. Now, I understand the importance of a gut-friendly, protein-packed breakfast and prioritize breakfast over all meals. Here are my five favorite recipes for quick, easy, and protein-packed meals that taste SO good. I go to sleep dreaming about these meals every night.
Black Sesame Greek Yogurt Bowl
What I like about it: This is my favorite way to enjoy black sesame. Its so easy to just dump in a bowl and is so so satisfying!
~34g protein
Ingredients:
¾ cup Greek yogurt (15g)
1 scoop protein powder (20g)
1 tsp black sesame powder
1 packet byAVA Jelloskin Booster
Optional: sliced pear, goji berries, mixed nuts
Directions:
Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix well.
Bone Broth with Jammy Eggs and Toast
What I like about it: It's my go-to breakfast when I'm busy because it's quick, easy, and packed with protein. Nourishing start to the day.
1 cup Asian bone broth (recipe here: https://www.byava.co/products/eat-your-skincare-byava-recipes)
2 large eggs
1 slice whole-grain or sourdough bread
Butter or olive oil for toasting
Instructions:
Cook the Jammy Eggs: Boil eggs for 6-7 minutes, then cool in ice water and peel. Or use egg cooker.
Heat Bone Broth: Warm the bone broth in a pot.
Toast the Bread: Toast the bread in a skillet with butter or olive oil; serve.

Quick Miso Tofu Scramble
What I like about it: It’s a quick, flavorful breakfast, and I love the umami kick from the miso.
~32g protein
Ingredients:
200g firm tofu (crumbled)
1 tsp miso paste
Soy sauce + sesame oil
Optional: spinach or green onions
Instructions:
Pan-fry tofu with miso, soy, and sesame oil until hot. Add greens if desired.
Tofu & Egg Rice Bowl
What I like about it: the balance of flavors and textures—the crispy tofu, the creamy egg, and the comforting rice come together perfectly.
~30g protein
Ingredients:
½ block firm tofu (cubed)
1 egg
¾ cup cooked rice
Handful of greens
Soy sauce + sesame oil
Green onion (optional)
Directions:
Pan-fry tofu until golden.
Fry egg.
Wilt greens in the same pan.
Add everything to a bowl with rice.
Drizzle soy sauce + sesame or perilla oil
Chinese Steamed Egg Custard with Shrimp & Silken Tofu
What I like about it: The smooth, velvety custard is a smooth start to the day and reminds me of the egg custards my mom used to make me.
Protein: ~32g
Ingredients:
2 eggs (12g)
100g silken tofu (5g)
4 oz chopped shrimp (15g)
Dash of soy sauce + sesame oil
Optional: sliced shiitake mushrooms or scallions
Instructions:
Blend eggs with water or broth, pour over tofu and shrimp.
Steam gently for ~10 minutes until just set.
Drizzle with sesame oil and soy sauce
